Frequently Asked Questions

How long does switching business energy take?
For most businesses using under 50,000 kWh a year, switching takes 4 to 6 weeks from signing your new contract. We handle the process and keep you updated throughout.
Is there any obligation to switch after getting a quote?
None at all. Getting a quote through SwitcherMate Business is completely free and carries zero obligation. The decision is entirely yours.
What information do I need to get a business energy quote?
Your business postcode, current supplier name and an estimate of your annual usage in kWh. If you have a recent bill to hand that covers everything.
Can you help if my business energy contract is still running?
Yes. We can lock in a new rate that starts when your current contract ends, typically within the last 6 months of your term. This protects you from rate rises at renewal.
What happens after I submit an enquiry?
One of our advisers will contact you within one business day to discuss your requirements. We will then research the market and come back to you with the best options available. There is no pressure and no obligation to proceed.
Can you help businesses with multiple sites?
Yes. We work with businesses of all sizes including those with multiple premises. We can consolidate your energy, broadband or card machine contracts to simplify billing and maximise savings across all sites.
How do card machine rates work and how do you find a better deal?
Card machine providers charge a mix of terminal rental, transaction fees and monthly service fees. We compare rates across the whole market based on your business type, monthly turnover and current provider. Most businesses we work with find a meaningfully better rate.
What is VoIP and why does my business need to think about it now?
VoIP routes phone calls over your broadband connection rather than the old copper phone network. BT is switching off the copper network nationally by 2027 — all UK businesses will need to move to VoIP. Acting early gives you more choice and a smoother transition.
Can I partner with SwitcherMate Business?
Yes. We welcome partnership enquiries from energy suppliers, broadband providers, card payment companies and distribution partners. Select Partnership in the form above and tell us about your organisation.
Is SwitcherMate Business regulated?
SwitcherMate Business is a trading name of SwitcherMate Ltd (Co. 16568958). We are ICO registered (ZC080646) and a member of the Energy Ombudsman ADR scheme (No. C35SWIT30).
Where is SwitcherMate Business based?
